User Interviews & Testing
CPE Nation is a new continuing education platform for accountants I helped build. I performed user interviews with CPA's of various ages and backgrounds. I held general interviews, then a series of tasks to be performed on a competitor's website.
User Attribute Map
5 hours of interviews were mapped over various user attribute axes. Consistent groupings were identified to develop personas.
With our primary persona in mind, we mapped the user journey from the user deciding they should start their CPE to completing all requirements for the year. This journey fed into user stories for managing the project and also exposed points where the user felt extremely frustrated or extremely happy.
With user stories established, we moved into wireframes and started laying out the various features and flows that would meet the users' needs.
After several rounds of revision and low fidelity prototyping, wireframes were finalized and we started converting them to high fidelity mockups in Sketch at various screen sizes.
Mockups and eventually the completed website were continually tested by new users to observe pain points & points of joy to continuously improve the product.
